Sexual harassment at the workplace is strictly prohibited under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Employees who experience or witness sexual harassment are encouraged to report the matter without fear.
What Constitutes Sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment includes (but is not limited to):
- Unwelcome physical contact or advances
- Demand or request for sexual favours
- Making sexually coloured remarks
- Showing pornography
- Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature
Internal Committee (IC) & Nodal Officer Details
Complaint Mechanism
- Complaints should ideally be filed within 3 months of the incident
- The IC ensures a fair, unbiased, and timely inquiry
- SHe-Box complaints are forwarded to the concerned Internal Committee / Local Committee
Confidentiality Assurance
All complaints will be handled with strict confidentiality, sensitivity, and fairness. Retaliation against complainants or witnesses is strictly prohibited under the Act.
Consequences of Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment may lead to disciplinary action, including:
Warning / Reprimand
Suspension
Termination
Additional actions as per company policy and applicable law may also apply.
